This course is for vets looking to increase their understanding of how to use locking-plates for fracture repair in companion animals.
It is a practical hands on course that will include aspects of fracture fixation theory alongside hands on saw-bone exercises and cadaver wet lab practice. We will consider the principles of locking plate technology and their application, alongside decision making in fracture repair. The difference and situational benefits between titanium alloy and stainless-steel plates will also be considered. Throughout the course common complications and solutions are discussed, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions and get hands on with the kit.
The course will use the Rita Leibinger LeiLOX plating system in various sizes, with a variety of fracture types covered.
